Uganda: Utilising the holidays.

During the easter holidays, students created a rota for working at the St Denis computer business, so they could assist with serving customers, as well as registering for email accounts and brushing up on their typing skills. Eight students came for two days each, and learnt how to photocopy, email, design invitations and calculate the monthly income.

Two talented artists from Senior 4 were also asked to assist with designing the sign post in front of the business, which they did with skill and precision. Ndalike Laurence acted as the artistic director, while Sseka Joseph was his dilligent assistant.

Business has been on the rise since the sign post was erected, and Teddy the manager is now reporting profits of nearly 1 million shillings since January. This makes the computer business the most profitable income generating activity at St Denis!
