Pah! The mysterious world of eBay doesn’t scare you.
You’ve got a User ID, a Seller Account with your name
on it, and you’re not afraid to use it!
There’s an art to selling though,
so why not check out a few tips.
And if you are an incy bit nervous about the whole selling
process maybe have a recap.
Now Get That Car Boot Stuffed With
Goodies and Set Up Your Stall in Cyberspace!
All you have to do is start the selling
process on eBay
like you normally would – choose the type of auction,
give it a title, add your description, yadda, yadda, yadda.
The bit that’s different is when you
get to the "Pictures & Details"
section, you’ll see an
area titled "Donate percentage
of sale to charity".
Click the "Add"
link just below this, and if you’ve never given
to charity via eBay you’ll be transported on a journey
of discovery.
To cut a long story short, you’ll
be asked to register with MissionFish,
a UK registered charity that handle all the admin for eBay.
And if you’re happy with all their terms and conditions
(keep that credit card handy as ever!) you’ll be able
to select TeachAManToFish
from their approved charities database, and donate a percentage
of your sale to us - 100% being our favourite percentage!
It’s definitely worth spending a minute
or two reviewing how the whole eBay
for Charity thing works – click
here.
And that’s it! Once you’re all
signed up, it’s really just like selling anything on
eBay, but with one extra drop down menu (the percentage choosing
thing).
Thank you, thank you, thank you for taking
part in this event!
The things you give away you’ll
never miss – the education projects it’ll allow
us to run though, will keep offering opportunities to students
year after year, helping them to help themselves.
