Fear not, eBay’s easy - in fact it’s virtually
an anagram of easy. The only restriction is that you have
to be over 18*
Step One: Join the party!
1. Register yourself.
It takes two minutes to fill in the form - unless of course
you spend forever trying to think up amusing UserID - click
here!
Note: Even if you're based outside the UK you can still
register on ebay.co.uk
2. Check your email.
They send you a mail with a link in it. Click on the link
to verify you email account. This helps them know you’re
a real person and not some evil computer out to conquer the
world.
You’re now their 10 million and first
user, feel proud of yourself.
Step Two: Get a Seller Account!
To sell an item on eBay you have to sign
up for a Seller Account. EBay explain it much better than
we can - better check out the facts here
– but basically:
1. They need to give your identity the ‘once over’
again - so keep those credit card details handy
2. You have to let them know how you want to pay your Seller
Fees. When you sell items ‘not-for-charity’
eBay charges you a small fee - this is how makes its money.
When you sell items 100% ‘for-charity’, eBay gives
the charity 100% of your Final Value Fee** - hurrah!
Now You’re a Pro!
Time to step up with the big boys and find
out how this whole cyber car boot sale thing works - finally!

*Note: Standing on tip toes and speaking
in a deep voice doesn’t work – we’ve tried!
Also if you register with an "anonymous" email address,
such as Yahoo or Hotmail, you need to place a valid credit
card number on file to verify you are who you say you are.
Don’t worry, they’re very gentle with it and won’t
start ordering extra large pizzas for all their friends on
it. Probably.
**Unless your item doesn’t
sell, or you start doing fancy things to promote your auction,
the Final Value Fee is normally the biggest part of your seller
fees.
