Venue & Travel

Agricultural SchoolConference location
The First International Conference on Financially Self-Sufficient Schools will be held on the campus of the San Francisco Agricultural High School in Paraguay, South America.

The school is set in 60 hectares of farmland located near the small rural community of Cerrito, a distance of 43km from Asuncion, the capital of Paraguay.

At the heart of the campus the school maintains a conference centre and hotel with capacity for 100 visitors. The centre represents one of the school’s core businesses and as such is the perfect location to discuss Financially Self-Sufficient Schools.

Hotel Lobby at the SchoolAccommodation & meals
Shared accommodation is available at the conference venue in the rural hotel operated by the San Francisco Agricultural School on the school grounds. Places at this hotel, which can accommodate up to 100 guests, are offered to all delegates* at no additional cost.

Please note that this is ‘rustic style’ accommodation, and that rooms with private bathrooms are limited. Spaces will be allocated on a first-come-first served basis, with preference given where advance payment for the conference has been made.
*subject to availability

School Hotel AccommodationA range of hotel accommodation is also available in Asuncion, approximately an hour’s distance from the conference venue.

Options include Hotel Portal del Sol ($40-$60 per night) and the Sheraton ($80-$120 per night). Bookings should be made through the Conference Organizers to ensure the best possible price. NB: Accommodation in hotels located outside the conference venue is not included in the Conference registration fee.

Please indicate on your registration form your preferred choice of accommodation.

All meals for the duration of the conference are also included in the registration fee. Should you have any particular dietary requirements please ensure you mention these on your registration form.

Travel to Paraguay
The main airline for flights to Asuncion in Paraguay is TAM (Transportes Aéreos del Mercosur) although the airport is also used by Aerolíneas Argentinas, Iberia, Pluna, LAN Chile, Gol Transportes Aéreos.

Most major airlines (American Airlines, United Airlines, British Airways, Air France, Lufthansa etc.) operate flights via São Paulo, Brazil, with connecting flights to Asuncion.  There are also a number of scheduled flights to Asunción from other South American cities, notably Buenos Aires, Santa Cruz (Bolivia) and Santiago (Chile).

The limited number of seats on flights into Asuncion means delegates are strongly advised to book as far ahead of travel as possible to ensure connecting flight availability.
